● Raffle Tickets for our Summer Meat Grilling Bundle. With the help of Terrill’s Meat Market, we are raffling TWO $250 value meat bundles to help raise money for the November band trip to Orlando, Florida. Winners will be drawn on September 5 at the First Friday event.
● Uniform Pillows! Ever wonder what happened to the old band uniforms? Decorative Pillows! We still have many available to purchase. Pillows are $50.

Friday, August 1: First Friday, Downtown Marcellus. Look for band members to be selling Meat Bundle Raffle Tickets. $20 a ticket. Proceeds help current and future band trips.
Wednesday, Aug. 13: Marching Band Rehearsal, 7pm-9pm.
Saturday, August 16: Bluegill Frolic Parade. Report time to be announced.

Marching Band
● Camp runs from August 4-8, Monday through Thursday, 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-2pm.
● Monday lunch – Nacho/Taco Bar catered by Whippy Dip; Tuesday-Thursday – Drive Thru Q; Friday – Pizza. If you have any dietary restrictions or you just don’t like the lunch options, please plan on bringing your own lunch. Refrigerators and microwaves are available for student use.
● Bring snacks and water. We will have water and lemonade available. Day time snacks and breakfast items are NOT available.
● Show Shirts have arrived. Students need to purchase their shirts before the Frolic Parade. Shirts are $12, if paying by check, please make the check out to the school
● Miss Essex needs volunteers to provide pre-cut or sliced fruit and cookies. Students prefer watermelon and apple slices. Any kind of cookie will be gladly appreciated and eaten.
● New! Dress up days! Students who dress up according to theme may enter their name in a drawing that will take place on Friday. Monday – USA Day; Tuesday – Twin Day; Wednesday – Shrek Day; Thursday – Section Color Day (Flutes wear red; Clarinets wear pink; Alto Saxes and Mellophones wear green; Trumpet wear blue; Trombones and Tenor Saxes wear white; Bass Line wear purple; Drumline wear yellow); Friday – Orange and Black Day.
● Shrek Show Items – The Band Booster group is looking for items to be donated for our “Shrek” set. If you are willing to donate fake plants, trees, moss, bark, paint, paint brushes, or ANYTHING at all that you think we can build a swamp out of, we will be very happy to take that off of your hands. We are also looking for costumes for the following: Shrek, Donkey, Pinocchio, Gingerbread Man, and the Three Blind Mice. If you have anything in your household you think we could use, we will be happy to take that off of your hands as well!
6th Grade Band Instrument Fitting and Rental Night
On August 20, representatives from Meyer Music will be in the high school band room from 4:30pm-6:30pm to assist with instrument fittings and instrument rentals for any incoming 6th grade student who would like to join the band program. If you have a conflict and can’t make it to the rental night, never fear! Contact Miss Essex for more information on joining the band program! Email: kathryn.essex@marcelluscs.org
