Old Business:
With regards to the fishing contest, we still do not have a replacement for Tommy confirmed yet and only have it on Saturday morning and doing away with having it on First Fridays.
Chelsea is still working on trying to reach local businesses to get donations to make baskets for the silent auction. Our goal is to try and do a silent auction online in late April and early May. We will advertise one basket at a time, and we will have a minimum starting bid on all items to avoid anyone low balling us. All bids will be sent by private message through Facebook to the BGF Facebook page.
Rides voted online were a yes from ACP; velocity slide & rock wall were going to be roughly 14K. After considering the current economy and the trials that come with putting together this type of event, we are thinking that we may need to scale things back and be more cautious with what we spend our money on. We are going to look into just getting the Rock Wall and then maybe some blow-up for the littles which should drop our cost for the rides.
Amy has not had a chance to ask the VFW about us borrowing their train for the event but if for some reason they say no then we will make one ourselves that we can use year after year.
With Josh’s help, Cary is going to try and create QR Codes for the various sign-ups so we can advertise them in the Marcellus Paper and also make a link to our new website that we are going to create.
Unfortunately, since Jessica was out sick, we were not able to do a rundown of the bands and their times. We will try to get the details from her at our next meeting.
As a group we are also trying to gather pictures that we can add to the flyer to help promote the event and get more donations.
New Business:
We decided we are going to come up with a couple of designs for a T-shirt or bumper sticker fundraiser and then we will have the public vote on what design they like the best. We talked about possibly featuring Jimmy on a T-shirt and possibly a QR code on the bumper sticker. Ultimately, our goal is to create an online store with the help from Josh, Cary and Jaclyn help raise money for the BGF.
We discussed our sponsorships and what we could do differently to entice sponsors to donate $1000+ which was a struggle trying to come up with ideas.
Amy brought up the idea of the BGF Committee putting on a skit on center-stage after the Parade. Everyone thought that this was a great idea, and everyone decided to nominate Amberly and Jessica to be the faces of the BGF Committee. We would love to see them play the pigs, but we will leave the shenanigans up to them being that is what they do BEST!!!
To reach a larger drinking market, we decided that we should get some alternative drinks like Miller Lt for the boys and fruity drinks for the ladies.
Jessica was able to get the liquor license signed and back to us before tonight’s meeting. All that is needed now is for Amy and Michelle to sign it with a notary. Amy reached out to Mary Molan who is a notary.
Open Floor:
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday April 22,2025.
Meeting Adjourned: 7:28pm
