On Saturday, December 7, the Marcellus FFA (pictured) hosted Breakfast with Santa. The community was invited to share in a festive breakfast, enjoy a picture with Santa,and participate in cookie decorating and ornament painting. The holiday season is upon us and Marcellus Community Schools is celebrating with several events and festivities. ‘Tis the season to mark your calendars for upcoming school holiday events!
On December 12, the fun-filled first and second grade musical will take place under the direction of music teacher Mr. Lekan. Performances are scheduled for 1:45 and 6:30pm. The students and staff love a large audience so make your way to the elementary to enjoy the shows!
Marcellus High School is the place to be on December 16 when the music department presents their annual Winter Band Concert. Under the skillful direction of Director Katy Essex, the sixth grade, middle, high school concert, and Jazz Combo bands will perform, beginning at 7:00p.m. Stop in to hear the musical talents of the amazing Marcellus Band! Everyone is encouraged to wear an ugly Christmas sweater for the event!
On December 17, Santa will visit the elementary school where students will have the opportunity to get a picture with Santa! The following day, December 18, the elementary school staff and volunteers will transform the gymnasium for Santa’s Express. Students will be able to browse the Santa Express Shop to select a gift for their parents or immediate family members. Most gift items can be purchased for a dollar. Elementary kids learn the joy of giving and are always excited to participate in this annual school event. It should be noted that elementary parents may choose not to allow their children to participate in the holiday events.
Winter Break begins on December 23 and runs through January 3. Happy holidays to Marcellus students, staff and families!
