John Marshall Johnson, 72 of Marcellus, Michigan, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, in Grand Rapids Michigan.
He was born in Niles, Michigan on March 16, 1951, the son of Marshall Eugene Johnson and Roslie (Horton) Johnson.
On April 22, 1989, at Porter Baptist Church in Constantine Michigan he married Patricia Lynn Bevan who survives him in death.
John was a Firefighter working for over 31 years at Marcellus and Newberg as an EMT, he also taught CPR through the American Red Cross. He was a feeder driver at UPS for 17 years and MDOT in Jones for 15 years.
John loved his family and singing at church. He loved classic cars and trucks and was kindhearted and gregarious.
John is survived by his wife; Patricia “Trish”, daughters; Jennifer Kelley of Shelby Twp, Missy Johnson of Farmington, Melissa Johnson of Centreville, sons; Efrim (Tracy) Johnson of Marcellus, Lee Johnson of Louisville KY, Jacob Johnson of Marcellus 10 grandchildren; sisters; Evelyn (Tim) Evans of Sumterville FL, Marsha (Don) Medd of Marcellus, many nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Roslie and grandson Samuel Hazard.
The family received friends on Friday April 7, 2023, at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus, and on Saturday April 8, 2023, at Howardsville Christian School. Memorial Services were held Saturday, April 8, 2023, with Pastor Sheldon Combs officiating. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Marcellus Fire and Ambulance.
