In other news from Superintendent Pauley, Marcellus Community Schools asks that parents contact their child’s school when their child must be absent. Currently, if the parent does not contact the school, office personnel attempt to contact the parent. This is sometimes a very consuming task for the office staff. In the near future, the district will begin using automated phone calls to alert parents of their child’s absence and to remind parents to contact the school. The automated notification will be sent at 9:00 a.m. to those parents who have not already notified the school of their child’s absence. The system is expected to go live in the next couple of weeks.
Last week’s evening parent-teacher conferences were canceled due to inclement weather. As a result, parent-teacher conferences have been rescheduled to Thursday, February 24, from 4:40- 7:30 p.m.
