Election Commission Meeting – September 10, 2025
Supervisor Oxley called the meeting to order at 6:50p.m. Members present – Oxley, Bitely, Nesbitt, Packer, and Smith. Also present – four guests.
Motion by Smith with support by Nesbitt to appoint the following election inspectors for the November 4, 2025, election:
Karen Churchill, Republican – Co-Chairperson
Brenda Nesbitt, Republican – AV Chairperson
Laura Rice, Democrat – Co-Chairperson
Tammy Riggs, Republican – Receiving Board
Martha Wright, Democrat – Receiving Board
Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Public Accuracy Test for the November 4, 2025, election will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 6:00pm.
Motion by Smith with support by Nesbitt to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 pm. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Regular Meeting
September 10, 2025
Supervisor Oxley called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m. Members present – Oxley, Bitely, Nesbitt, Packer, and Smith. Also present – Attorney Moraitis and five guests.
Motion by Packer with support by Nesbitt to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on August 13, 2025. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Bitely with support by Packer to approve the Treasurer’s report subject to audit. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Nesbitt with support by Packer to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Packer with support by Bitely to approve cemetery price increases for non-resident plots from $500 to $1200 and increase burial cost from $450 to $600. Roll vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Smith with support by Nesbitt to approve a penalty increase for not registering a Short-Term Rental, to be double the amount of the permit application fee for first violation. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Bitely with support by Packer to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 pm. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
