Well ladies and gentleman the longest NFL season is almost in the books. After Championship weekend the Bengals and Rams are set to meet in Super Bowl LVI. I am sure everyone had them penciled into the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season right? LOL! Just goes to show you how crazy and unpredictable this season has been. We had two NFL legends step away, a Lion actually win in the playoffs, new faces in the playoffs, and I think there are going to be things in the Super Bowl happen for the first time…because I mean…why not right?
The LA Rams pretty much mortgaged their future by trading draft picks to bring in superstars like Matthew Stafford, Von Miller, and Odell Beckham Jr. They saw their window to win being wide open and add on top of that they are hosting the Super Bowl in their brand new stadium. Well their ownership is seeing the fruits of their labor and their gambles have paid off so far. The Rams beat the 49ers to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl and will be the second team in a row to host the Super Bowl in their stadium. Will Stafford play the role of Tom Brady and bring home the win in their stadium? In my early analysis of the match up…I’d say he has a really good chance!
This time last year most folks were wondering if Joe Burrow will ever be the same after suffering a horrible knee injury. Most folks wrote him off because of the emergence of Justin Herbert and his record setting rookie year. The Bengals have been horrible for many years. Well maybe not horrible but never really made any noise in the playoffs. Well Joe Burrow and that team are one win away from something fantastic. If you look at that team on paper, you should expect to see them in this spot. They have offensive weapons coming out of the woodwork, a defense that flies around, and a rookie kicker that is having a post season that only Adam Vinatieri has done. The only knock on this team is protecting Burrow but then again, they gave up nine sacks and still won.
I can’t in good faith in this arti mention the GOAT Tom Brady calling it quits. Well, at least that is what reporters are running with even though Tom himself hasn’t officially said anything but I think the writing is on the wall. Not saying this is a bad thing but when I heard him talk about it last week it sounded like a man who was ready to spend more time with his family and walk away very healthy and having one of his best statically seasons he has ever had. The past few seasons when these rumors started Tom would be up front and squash them. He hasn’t said anything yet which leads me to believe the reports. If he walks away let me be one of the firsts to say, “Thank you, Tom!’”
If you are reading this expecting my Super Bowl picks, well there is a bye week before the Super Bowl so I have to save content for that article but do not fear…stay tuned for next week! The one thing I will predict in this article is this is going to be one heck of a game!
