NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING
TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF VOLINIA TOWNSHIP, CASS COUNTY, MICHIGAN, AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Volinia Township Planning Commission will hold a special meeting, including public hearing, on September 18, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Cass County Road Commission located at 340 North O’Keefe Street, Cassopolis, Cass County, Michigan, regarding the following item:
A public hearing on the Special Land Use and Non-Residential Site Plan Review Request of High Grade Materials Company along with Nathan E and Lou Ann Robinson, 55721 Decatur Road, Cassopolis, MI to allow Extraction Operations on land zoned Agricultural Production, Parcel 14-140-017-007-00, legally addressed as 52083 Decatur Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031 brief tax description of . 171 5-14 S 1/2 SW 1/4, EX W 825 FT THEREOF SEC 17. 55 A. and Parcel 14-140-017-006-00, legally addressed as 55721 Decatur Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031 brief tax description of . 169-170 5-14 N 1/2 SW 1/4 SEC 17. 80 A.
Written comments will be received concerning the above matters by the Volinia Township Planning Commission via first class mail to PO Box 222, Cassopolis, MI 49031 or by email at zoningadmin@zoningsolutions.net and may further be submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting.
The application for the Special Land Use and Non-Residential Site Plan Review and the Volinia Township Zoning Ordinance may be examined by contacting the Volinia Township Zoning Administrator via first class mail to PO Box 222, Cassopolis, MI 49031 or by email at zoningadmin@zoningsolutions.net after publication of this Notice and may also be examined at the meeting. All interested persons are invited to be present at the aforesaid time and place.
Volinia Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the hearing to individuals with disabilities upon receipt of notice at least five (5) days prior to the public hearing. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Township Clerk.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON INCREASING PROPERTY TAXES
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT THE VOLINIA TOWNSHIP Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on a
voter-approved increase of 3.0 mills for construction and maintenance of township roads to be levied on property in 2024 on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Volinia Township Hall, 53254 Goodenough Rd., Marcellus, MI 49067.
The date and location of the meeting to take action on the proposed additional millage will be announced
at this public meeting. However, please note that the Board may take action on the proposed additional
millage at the meeting on September 9, 2024, following the public hearing, if the Board determines such
action is appropriate.
If adopted, the proposed additional millage will increase ad valorem property taxes 11.04% over such
revenues generated by levies permitted without holding a hearing. If the proposed additional millage rate is not approved, the operating revenue will not increase over the preceding year’s operating revenue.
The taxing unit publishing this notice, and identified below, has complete authority to establish the number of mills to be levied from within its authorized millage rate.

Notice of Public Hearing on Increasing Property Taxes
The Board Members of the Township of Volinia will hold a public hearing on a proposed increase of 3.1502 mills in the operating tax millage rate to be levied on property in 2024.
The hearing will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 8:00pm at the Volinia Township Hall,
53254 Goodenough Road, Marcellus, MI 49067.
The date and location of the meeting to take action on the proposed additional millage will be announced at this public meeting.
If adopted, the proposed additional millage will increase operating revenues from ad valorem property taxes 122.51% over such revenues generated by levies permitted without holding a hearing. If the proposed additional millage rate is not approved, the operating revenue will increase by 2.09% over the proceeding year’s operating revenue.
The taking unit publishing this notice, and identified below, has complete authority to establish the number of mills to be levied from within its authorized millage rate.
