107 years after celebrating the return of family who fought in World War 1, descendants of Uriah Mason Adams and Jane McKain Adams will mark the occasion by gathering at the family’s Centennial farm.
The first family gathering, honoring returning military relatives, was held at the home of Horace Chester Adams and his wife Roxanna. (This in now the Centennial Farm.) Adams’ ancestors have a proud military tradition, and family members have served in nearly every war in American history dating back to Lt. Joel Adams who fought in the American Revolutionary. Adams and McKain families have lived in Cass and Van Buren Counties since the Horace Hale Adams family moved to the area in 1839.
The reunion will be held at the Centennial farm at 88789 23rd Street Porter Township, Van Buren County. Family will gather around 12:00 with a Potluck meal around 1:00. A Fundraising Auction will be held after the meal. A short meeting about future reunions and games for the children will follow. For more information you may email reunion President, Dawn Sivley, at dsivley2@hotmail.com.
