Band Notes – May 23, 2022
May 26 – Senior Honors Night, 7pm. This is a requirement for the high school band. Report time for HS Band is 6:30pm.
May 27 – National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, 6pm, new gym of the high school.
May 30 – Memorial Day Ceremony, 10am Bly Cemetery. This is an exam grade for the high school band. Report time at the high school is 9am.
June 3 – First Friday. Jazz Band performs that evening. More details soon. If it rains, we will perform inside the News Office.
June 5 – Graduation, 3pm. This is an exam grade for the high school band and 8th grade band members. Report time for band members is 2:30pm.
Looking ahead:
Summer Drumline rehearsals – dates and times to be released soon.
August – 5 – Freshmen Marching Basics, 8am-Noon in the band room.
August 8 – 12: Marching Band Camp for band grades 9-12. Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm; Friday 8am-2pm. This is a requirement of all high school band members.
August 18 – 6th Grade Band Instrument Fitting and Rental Night, 6pm in the high school band room.
August 20 – Bluegill Frolic Parade
6th Grade Band
Only TWO practice cards remain for the final marking period! All practice cards and time requirements must be completed by Thursday, June 9. Practice cards are assigned each Monday and are due the following week. Students have one week to complete the 60 minute practice requirement. Practice time must take place outside of the class period. Students must have their practice cards signed by an adult who has supervised their practice time. These practice assignments make up 30% of the marking period grade.
