Band Notes – April 25
April 28 – Jazz Festival, 10am, Hastings, MI. We will be performing at the Dennison PAC, 231 South Broadway, Hastings.
April 29 – Vouchers for Dussel’s Farm Market will be distributed to students who participated in the fundraiser.
May 10 – ½ Day
May 25 – Spring Band Concert, 7pm. This concert is a requirement for all band students grades 6-12.
May 26 – Senior Honors Night, 7pm. This is a requirement for the high school band.
May 30 – Memorial Day Ceremony, 10am Bly Cemetery. This is an exam grade for the high school band.
June 3 – First Friday event. More details to come.
June 5 – Graduation, 3pm. This is an exam grade for the high school band and 8th grade band members.
Looking ahead:
Summer Drumline rehearsals – dates and times to be released soon.
August 8 – 13: Marching Band Camp for band grades 9-12. Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm; Friday 8am-2pm. This is a requirement of all high school band members.
August 18 – 6th Grade Band Instrument Fitting and Rental Night, 6pm in the high school band room.
6th Grade Band
The 6th grade band will be using practice cards for the fourth marking period. Practice cards are assigned every Monday and are due the following Monday. Students have one week to complete the 60 minute practice requirement. Practice time must take place outside of the class period. Students must have their practice cards signed by an adult who has supervised their practice time. These practice assignments make up 30% of the marking period grade.
