Bluegill Frolic Committee Meeting Minutes, January 9, 2024

January 16, 2024 By Marcellus News Leave a Comment

Amy Segerdahl called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm.

Attendance:
Present: Jessica Jarrard, Brian New, Amy Segerdahl, Michelle Drake, Chelsea Proffit, Cary Hansen and Todd Snyder
Absent: Amberly Ware, Mary Morlan, Anne Dean, Shawnie, Cathy and Miranda Cropsey

Treasury Report:
As of 01.09.24 the amount in the bank is $4,474.93.

Old Business:
Everyone approved of the November Meeting notes.  In addition, Amy is still trying to get the old taxes cleared up, but she keeps getting the runaround.   She applied for a pin number to file the 991N, but she has not received anything in the mail yet.  If nothing in a few days she will go to the Mishawaka IRS location and file in person.
The village also agreed to allow us to use the old football field for this year’s BGF.

Spotlight:
This month we are recognizing both Apollo and Willow Lake Sportsman’s Club.  Both sponsors were extremely generous in their donations and made it possible for us to have a successful BGF.

New Business:
It was decided this year that we are going to change the pricing for vendors.   We decided to raise the pricing for food trucks from $75 to $100.  We also decided to raise the craft vendors from $35 to $40.

Michelle motioned for us to vote on the new prices.  Todd second the motions.
Yes – by all. No

Todd volunteered to oversee this year’s cornhole tournament.

It was decided we may not be able to have as many rides this year due to the temporary location due to the Beautification of Downtown.  We may contact Jerry to see about having them supply us with rides this year. We decided we are definitely going to have the dunk tank again this year.

With regards to the stage banner, we are looking into going with something more permanent and that we could potentially reuse every year.

Amy is going to talk with the owners of Regina’s to see if they would be interested in hosting a trivia night at their place to help raise money for this year’s BGF.  If that location works, we could then serve alcohol and food.   If that location does not work then Amy will talk to Patch and Remington, to see if we could possibly hold it at their place.

Chelsea is going to look into possibly hosting a vendor event at the Hudson Memorial Building to help us raise money and potentially draw in more business for the BGF.

Jessica has Duces Wild already set to play on Saturday.  Amy is also going to see if we can get Hair Mania to play on Friday.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:29pm.

Next Meeting is scheduled for February 6, 2024, at 6pm at the Township Hall.
