Cass County Animal Control to host Rabies Vaccine Clinic

July 29, 2025 By Marcellus News Leave a Comment

CASS COUNTY, Mich. — Cass County Animal Control is teaming up with local pet lovers to keep tails wagging and families safe with a community Rabies Vaccine Clinic next month.

Pet owners are invited to bring their dogs and cats to the Cass County Animal Control Building, located at 323 M-62 in Cassopolis, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 23. The event is open to pet owners inside and outside Cass County.

“A healthy pet is a happy pet,” said Animal Control Director Ron Butts. “Also, rabies vaccinations are required, by state law, on all dogs over the age of 4 months as well as being licensed in the county that they reside in.”

To make pet care easy and accessible, both one-year and three-year rabies vaccines will be offered, along with combo vaccines that protect against distemper, parvo, parainfluenza and hepatitis. Each vaccine is $25, and payment must be made in cash. Vaccines will be administered by event partner Bergman Small Animal, P.C.

To ensure there are enough vaccines on hand, Butts recommends pre-registering by calling the shelter at (269) 445-3701.
