The Cass County Fair is fast approaching, and more rapidly, the deadline for youth exhibitors wanting to show. Registration deadline is midnight, Friday, June 17, with no exceptions. All registrations must be done online through Blue Ribbon, of which the link can be found on the Cass County Fair website (www.mycasscountyfair.com). Once exhibitors are on the website, they just need to click on the “exhibitor” tab, choose “online registration” and they will be taken directly to the registration system. Directions are also located there.
Under the exhibitor tab on the website, the current fair book can be accessed, which is a great reference to answer many exhibitors’ questions.
Cass County 4-H Program Coordinator, Rennie Witham states, “If, after exhibitors have tried to register, they continue to have any issues, they can contact us at the MSU Extension office (269-445-4458) and we will see if we can help them out. This isn’t a new system, as we have been using it for several years now, so hopefully many of our exhibitors will be at ease doing it.”
A couple things are new this year though, and hopefully will make things easier for youth exhibitors:
1.Light horses must complete the online horse registration form (also found under the “exhibitor” tab on the fair’s website) which also allows for exhibitors to upload the mandatory Coggins test. This is due June 17. No paper forms will be allowed.
2. Pee Wee/Cloverbuds planning on showing livestock must fill out the Pee Wee/Cloverbud livestock form on the website. This is due June 17.
3. Livestock exhibitors (other than Pee Wee/Cloverbuds) do NOT need to fill out a Pen Reservation form as was required in years past.
Witham continues, “We have seen some registrations coming in already, we just want to make sure we remind as many people as possible about the deadline sneaking up on us. We all get so busy with school letting out, summer vacation plans getting under way that it is easy to put the fair registration off and then think about it when it’s too late to do anything about it. The system shuts down at midnight on June 17 and even we can’t access it for any additional registrations.”
