It’s Back to School Time! Teachers and staff will participate in professional development activities on August 23-25 and welcome students back for a half day on August 29. Arrival and dismissal times remain the same as last year.
Half day schedule
Marcellus Elementary – 7:47- 11:07 a.m.
Marcellus Middle school – 7:55- 10:57 a.m. (grades 6-8 dismissal from middle school building)
Marcellus High School – 7:50- 11:06 a.m.
Volinia Outcomes- 7:55- 10:50 a.m.
Full day schedule
Marcellus Elementary – 7:47 a.m. – 2:56 p.m.
Marcellus Middle school – 7:55 a.m.- 2:45 p.m. (grades 7 & 8th grade dismissal from high school)
Marcellus High School – 7:50 a.m.- 2:55 p.m.
Volinia Outcomes- 7:55 a.m.- 2:40 p.m.
As a reminder, on full days, all seventh and eighth grade students participate in last period at the high school. Dismissal is from the high school at 2:55 p.m. On half days, seventh and eighth grade students are dismissed from the middle school, at 10:57p.m. Sixth grade students are always dismissed from the middle school.
In preparation for the 2022-23 school year, please mark your calendars and plan to attend back to school events. United Way will host the School Supply Spectacular on August 17, at Marcellus High School. Registration is required at uwsm.org/sss.
Marcellus High School will host 9th grade orientation on August 23, at 6:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend to learn valuable information about the Marcellus Early College program, SMC Academies, dual enrollment, career-technical courses and the new FFA program.
Marcellus Middle School will also host a Back to School event on August 24, at 6:00 p.m. Stop in to learn more about the middle school experience and enjoy a sweet treat.
Finally, parents are also invited to attend Marcellus Elementary’s Open House on August 24, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and middle, high School and Volinia Outcome Schools’ Open Houses on September 7, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Parents can meet their child’s teachers and learn about curriculum and assessment as well as specific grade level and course requirements.
In order to provide additional time for curriculum and professional development, periodic half days are included in the 2022-23 school calendar. A full school year calendar is available on the school website at https://marcelluscs.org/calendar/.
Parents interested in the Strong Beginnings or Great Start Preschool programs are asked to call 445-6283 for more information. Potential Strong Beginnings enrollees should be age 3 and Great Start enrollees should be age 4 by September 1.
