Inside the Marcellus Community Schools

The Great Start Readiness Preschool (GSRP) program is expanding in Marcellus!   In January, the high quality program will open a second classroom at Marcellus Elementary. Children who are four years old by December 1 and meet certain other criteria may be eligible for enrollment, at no cost to parents. 

Managed by Heritage Southwest Intermediate School District, the preschool program uses the HighScope curriculum to help children develop language literacy and math skills in relatable, playful ways. Small class sizes help support individualized learning and encourage children to develop a lifelong love of learning.  Apply online at greatstartcass.org or by calling 269-445-6283 today.  

Mark your calendars for exciting upcoming events, including the fun-filled first and second grade Holiday Program.  Performances take place on December 14, at 1:30p.m. and 6:30 p.m., under the direction of music teacher Joe Lekan. The students and staff love a large audience so make your way to the high school gym and be prepared to smile! 

Also, you won’t want to miss the December 21 Winter Band Concert. Always a community pleaser, the concert begins at 7:00p.m. Stop in to hear the musical talents of the amazing Marcellus Bands!

Also on December 21, Marcellus Elementary will host Santa’s Express. Students will be able to browse the Santa Shop to select a gift for their parents or other loved ones.  Most gift items can be purchased for a dollar.
