January 16, 1958 ~ March 25, 2024
At 12:25 am on March 25, 2024, LaVonda Stokes passed away at Bronson Hospital while surrounded by friends and family. LaVonda was born January 16, 1958, at Vicksburg Hospital to Kenneth and Doris Crawford. Growing up she had two brothers, Dennis and Johnny and two sisters, Paula and Brenda along with numerous foster children that lived with her throughout her childhood, so she always had a full house, which continued into her adult life.
She met Ken Stokes and they were married November 29, 1980, in Texas Corners, they had six children, three boys and three girls who in turn gave them 19 grandchildren. Nothing LaVonda did made her as happy as going to Ely Lake campground with her family or going to watch them play sports. Lavonda was a devoted and loving person to everyone she met whether you knew her as daughter, sister, wife, mom, granny, or Rudy. She lit up a room whenever she showed up, be it her hair, her laugh, her bright and fun personality, or her uncanny ability to give the best (if not off the wall) nicknames. It was the way she treated everyone as family that was one of her best qualities no matter who you were or where you were from, she treated you as if you had been lifelong friends, there is something that will last with everyone that came into contact with her. She will be dearly missed by all but forever loved and remembered.
She is survived by, Ken Stokes (husband) Angie O’Hara (daughter) her husband Mike O’Hara and Kira Wright (granddaughter) Corey Stokes (son) wife Staci Stokes and Ash, Layni, Reese (grandchildren) Melissa Allen (daughter) her husband Bruce Allen and Gabriella, Anna, Trent (grandchildren) Denny Stokes (son) wife Misty and Atticus, Willow, Ivan (grandchildren) Max Stokes (son) Olivia Stokes (granddaughter) Macy Stokes (daughter) Tyson, Daisy, Quinton, Ace, Rowan, Maggie, Lilly, Tatum, (grandchildren)
