Editor:
After reading the letter dated September 18, 2025, from the Village of Marcellus to Marcellus residents,  I had to take a few steps back and ponder what was written.
In a nutshell I have come to this conclusion:
If not being able to walk down taxpayer sidewalks in our downtown area If looking at a minimum of 75% closed empty store fronts
If several businesses lost their ADA accessible entryways
If some businesses that have had structural damage have been ignored
If the Village President(s) and some members of the Village Council shutdown the DDA and stripped them of their ability to offer free remodeling/improvement grants to businesses
If the Village President(s) and certain members of the Village Council shutdown communication with the DDA and five members resigned as a direct result
If some members of the Village Council had not spent grant money for hanging baskets with flowers that were not watered and trees that were planted and not watered
AND THE BIGGIE:
If the President and certain members of the Village Council took advantage and credit for all the hard work Sarah Ayers, Seth Carlson and Christine Nofsinger have done in securing and administering grants, good grants
Then I say, Bravo for those accomplishments.
Actually, those on the Village Council that took credit for those accomplishments should put on their hats and coats and leave by the back door.
