January 3 1974: The Marcellus High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held their induction for new members on Tuesday evening, December 18, in the High School Library.

   An impressive candle service was conducted with the following program:

   Welcome and Pledge of Allegiance, Chuck Hartman; Description of N.H.S. Emblem, Karla Janing; Character, Chuck Hartman; Leadership, Sheila Hines; Scholarship, Loretta Hartman; Service, Janet Mead; Pledge of Membership, Mrs. Carolyn Ingersoll, Club Advisor, and Reception of New Members by Mrs. Ingersoll

   1973-74 officers of the club are, Chuck Hartman; Vice President, Sheila Hines; Secretary, Loretta Hartman and Treasurer, Janet Mead.

   New inductees are Bryan Burch, Peg Dudek, Deb Eigenhouse, Allen Gooding, Carol Kline, Jim Mason, Ray McKenzie, Joanne Mead, Joyce Meade, Teresa Schmidtendorff, Linette Skidmore, Luanne Tank and Laura Watts.

   Present members are Jim Burleigh, Diane Cropsey, Chuck Hartman, Loretta Hartman, Becky Hickman, Sheila Hines, Tom Ingersoll, Karla Janing, Gail Klein, Dan Maxey, Janet Mead, Dave Parker, Ralph Rassi, Dave Rentfrow, Kay Schten, Nan Strong, and Tom Wintrode.

   Refreshments were served following the ceremony.


January 3, 1974:
Halftime Entertainment at Jan. 8 Game: Athletic Director Earl Hahn announced this week that cage fans attending the Marcellus – Mattawan game Tuesday evening, January 8, will be treated to some fine half-time entertainment. Arrangements have been made to have members of the local Yellow Rocks Square Dance Club put on a demonstration of dancing that night.

   The Yellow Rocks Club is made up largely of local couples who have been meeting each Tuesday evening since early fall for lessons in the early American art of square dancing.
