Wildcats Lose Cliff-Hanger After Five Overtimes – Marcellus’ Wildcats suffered their first Conference defeat of the season last week bowing to Bloomingdale, 72 to 68. Even in defeat, the ‘Cats were magnificent battling the Cardinals through 5 overtimes before the outcome was decided.
The two teams see-sawed back and forth throughout the final regular period of play, and with one second left, Bloomingdale’s Tim Watson hit a one hand jumper that tied it 50 to 50 sending the game to the first of five overtimes.
Rex Ringle and Roy Mann led the offensive effort with 24 and 13 points respectively.
The loss by Marcellus leaves them tied with Bloomingdale for the Conference top position with records of 6 and 1.
