Marcellus Memories – VFW Showgirls

January 10, 2023 By Marcellus News Leave a Comment

They were known from the east side to the west side and from the north to the south. The Marcellus VFW Showgirls were internationally known for their attempts at high kicks. According to member Larry Romig, “at least we tried to high kick.” The “gals” were a troupe of veterans and nonveterans who got together to perform for the Ladies Auxiliary’s tenth anniversary in March 1981. The also performed mostly in nursing homes and bars. Their international fame came from a performance in Windsor, Canada. Their last performance was about 1995.
