Marcellus Township Regular Board Meeting, August 15, 2023

Supervisor Koshar called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and led the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Plummer, Schick

Motion by Hess, second by Schick, to approve the agenda – All Ayes – motion carried

Motion by Schick, second by Mroz, to approve the minutes from the July 18, 2023, as presented. All ayes – motion carried

Motion by Koshar, support by Hess, to pay the bills. Roll Call: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, Plummer – motion carried.

Motion by Hess, support by Plummer, to accept treasurer’s report as presented. All Ayes –motion carried.

Public Comments:
REPORTS:
• Cass County Undersheriff Clint Roach reported, giving a status update on the new patrol car. He also reported that two new deputies began patrolling. Supervisor Koshar indicated that the Village would like to meet with Sheriff Behnke, Supervisor Koshar, and the Village regarding additional patrols.
• Cemetery Report – Sexton Kruger reports one burial in the last month.
• MAESA – Schick presented report for MAESA board and discussion followed.
• Planning Commission – No updates
• Blight Report – No Report
•Supervisor Koshar – Motion by Koshar, second by Hess, to reconfirm the adoption of the International Property Maintenance Code that was approved at the April 18, 2023 meeting. All Ayes – Motion Carried

   The contract for Zoning Solutions, LLC was presented. Motion by Schick, seconded by Hess, to approve Zoning Solutions, LLC as the Ordinance Enforcement Office/Zoning Administrator. Roll Call vote: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, Plummer – All Ayes, motion carried.

New Business
• Clerk Plummer shared what she learned regarding chairs. She was tasked to look at other options and report back to the board.
• Treasurer Mroz inquired about getting a CD that earns interest
• Clerk Plummer inquired, with the switch to QuickBooks, about ordering new checks. She received permission to order.
• Motion by Koshar, seconded by Mroz, to approve the PA116 as presented for Pamela Johnson. All Ayes –Motion Carried.
