Supervisor Koshar called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m. The board and visitors recited the Pledge of Allegiance
Roll Call: Hess, Koshar, Mroz, Plummer, Schick
Motion by Schick, second by Hess, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Hess, second by Mroz, to approve the minutes from the August 16, 2022 meeting as presented. Motion carried
Motion by Koshar, support by Mroz, to pay the bills in the amount of $46,100.91. With regards to the MAESA board payments, Schick will submit the spreadsheet and payments will be made quarterly.
Roll Call: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, Plummer – motion carried
Motion by Hess, support by Schick, to accept treasurer’s report as presented. Motion carried
Public Comments: Resident Linda Kline addressed the board the sign at Bly Cemetery, wondering if the name of the cemetery would be changed when the sign was reinstalled. She was assured that it would remain Bly Cemetery. She also raised concern that headstones were missing. Clerk Plummer will contact Sexton Kruger to ask about these headstones.
REPORTS:
• Cass County Undersheriff Clint Roach reported.
• Trustee Schick shared the MAESA board report.
• Blight Administrator Grames – Greg will be picking up restored sign for Bly Cemetery.
• Supervisor Koshar – Presented information regarding hiring Ken Jewell as the Plumbing & Mechanical Inspector to replace Dobberteen. There are problems with Dobberteen not showing up for inspections and not following up.
Motion by Koshar, support by Schick, to hire Ken Jewell as Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector to replace Dobberteen. All Ayes – motion carried
• RV Ordinance has been put together by Attorney Schuitmaker. Ordinance was presented to board has first reading. Discussion was made on the length of time considered has “living in.” Ordinance will now go to Planning Commission for review.
• Bly Cemetery – Presented Costs for repairs at Bly Cemetery after fire to Pole Barn.

Motion by Schick, support by Hess, to replace roof at Township Hall with metal roof. Roll call –

Motion by Koshar, support by Plummer, to approve road markings – Roll Call: Koshar, Mroz, Schick, Hess, Plummer – Motion Carried
New Business
• Clerk Plummer mentioned to the board about using stamps.com, more specifically during election time and tax time. She will look into it more and bring it back to the board.
• Sexton Kruger sent a list of contents that were in the pole barn at Bly Cemetery. The
$807.40 will be paid from ARPA funds
• Residents have requested whether there will be dump passes for fall. The township will not be doing this for fall.
• A resident has required about short-term rentals. Per the law, we cannot stop residents from renting out. Motion by Hess, support by Plummer, to allow the supervisor to seek the attorney’s help with an ordinance.

Public Comments
Residents Christine Sziede and Ryan Jackson addressed the board regarding getting MEC Fiber internet for the remainder of Burlington Road. They were given permission by the board to look into grants or other means to get this accomplished.
Motion by Hess, support by Koshar, to adjourn at 7:33pm. Motion carried.
