Marcellus Township Regular Board Meeting Minutes – July 16, 2024

Supervisor Koshar called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and led the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, and Plummer – Absent: Schick

Clerk Plummer added Postage Meter under New Business to the agenda. Motion by Hess, seconded by Schick, to approve the agenda as amended. All Ayes – motion carried.

Motion by Koshar, seconded by Hess, to approve the minutes from the June 18, 2024, meeting as presented. All Ayes – motion carried.

Motion by Hess, support by Mroz, to pay the bills as presented. Roll Call: Ayes: Koshar, Mroz, Hess, Schick and Plummer. Motion Carried

Motion by Hess, support by Plummer, to accept treasurer’s report as presented. All Ayes – motion carried. Public Comments: None

REPORTS:
• Cass County Sheriff’s Department Report – Undersheriff Roach shared that two recruits were in their third phase of FTO and that other recruits were at various stages in the Academy. He also reminded of Drug Team millage proposal that would be on the August ballot for renewal

• County Prosecutor, Victor Fitz, shared information regarding the Drug Team millage proposal that would be on the August ballot for renewal

• Planning Commission chair, Ken Chemers, shared information regarding a master plan. The County has offered, for $2,000, to participate in a Master Plan. Motion by Hess, seconded by Schick, to pay the  $2,000 to participate in the Cass County Master plan.

• Commissioner Locke – N/A
• MAESA – Schick presented report for MAESA board and discussion followed.
• Zoning Report – None
• Blight Report – None
• Supervisor’s Report:

New Business:
• Clerk Plummer shared information with the Board from FP-Mailing Solutions. The quote was for $59.99 per month for 12 months. Motion by Koshar, seconded by Hess, to approve the purchase of a postage meter for $59.99 for 12 months. Roll call vote: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, and Plummer. Motion Carried

Old Business
• Our township Accounting firm is being changed from The Hutchens Group to Davis and Associates. Motion by Koshar, seconded by Plummer, to hire Davis and Associates for our monthly accounting. Roll call: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, and Plummer. Motion carried

Motion by Hess, seconded by Schick, to adjourn at 6:48 pm. All ayes – motion carried
