Supervisor Koshar called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m. Koshar asked guest, Jerry Solis, candidate for State Representative, to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call: Hess, Koshar, Mroz, Plummer, Schick
The agenda was approved with the addition of a Public Comments portion at the end. Additionally, Treasurer Mroz suggested that the appointment of Darcie Plummer as Township Clerk be moved to the beginning of the agenda. Motion by Schick, support by Hess to accept the agenda with changes.
Koshar made motion supported by Schick, to accept, with regrets, the resignation of clerk Paulette Hutson and appoint Darcie Plummer to complete Hutson’s term. The term will end on November 20, 2024. All ayes. Koshar gave Plummer the oath of office.
Motion by Schick, support by Hess, to approve the minutes from the May 17, 2022 meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
Motion by Koshar, support by Mroz, to pay the bills with changes of checks 8745, 8747, 8756, 8757, 8758, 8759, 8760, 8761 to marijuana fund and check 8749 will be voided and will come out of weed control account.
Roll Call: Ayes: Koshar, Hess, Mroz, Schick, Plummer – motion carried
Motion by Hess, support by Koshar, to accept treasurer’s report as presented. The ARPA account is set up at G.W. Jones Bank. All ayes, motion carried.
Jerry Solis, candidate for State Representative, spoke briefly about his campaign.
REPORTS:
• Cass County Undersheriff Clint Roach reported. He encouraged everyone to be mindful of locking their house and car doors. He reminded everyone of the 9-1-1 millage renewal on the August 2, 2022 primary election ballot. The ORV ordinance is coming along as expected.
• Nothing to report from Sexton Kruger
• MAESA – Schick presented report for MAESA board
• Planning Commission – Motion by Koshar, support by Hess, to adopt new Zoning Ordinance for nonconforming manufactured home. All ayes – motion carried.
• Haas Systems has installed a camera on building for ballot dropbox.
Public Comments
Resident asked if there were any guidelines for the mud runs that happen near Cranberry Lake a couple of times per month. There is loud music and it goes late into the night. Would it be under the nuisance policy? Assessor Northrop will look into it. Motion by Hess, support by Schick, to adjourn at 7:00pm. Motion carried.
