Marcellus TWP Regular Board Meeting Minutes, September 15, 2026

 Supervisor Koshar called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and led the pledge of allegiance.

   Roll Call: Present: Koshar, Chemers, Mroz, and Plummer. Schick arrived at 6:04

   Motion by Mroz, supported by Chemers, to approve the agenda of the September 15th meeting as presented. All Ayes – motion carried

   Motion by Koshar seconded by Chemers, to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2026, meeting as presented. All Ayes, motion carried.

  Motion by Mroz, support by Chemers, to approve the bills in the amount of $28,266.01. Roll call vote: Ayes – Koshar, Mroz, Schick, Chemers, and Plummer. Motion Carried

   Mroz shared the monthly treasurer’s report. Motion by Plummer, support by Schick, to accept treasurer’s report as presented. All Ayes – motion carried.

REPORTS:
• Cass County Sheriff’s Department Report –Undersheriff Schuur shared the monthly report, including on update on new deputies. The newest township deputy will be introduced at the October meeting.

• Planning Commission: No report to share

• Sexton Report – Grames shared the monthly report. He also shared a quote from J.C. & Sons to remove 9 trees and remove wood, brush, and stumps for $6800. Motion by Koshar, supported by Chemers, to approve the J.C. & Sons quote for $6800. Roll call vote: Ayes: Chemers, Schick, Koshar, and Plummer. Absent: Mroz – Motion Carried. They would also volunteer to  remove encroaching bushes at no extra cost.

• Commissioner Northrop – No report to share.

• MAESA – Trustee Schick shared the monthly report

• Zoning Report – Lamoreaux shared the monthly report

• Blight Report – Lamoreaux shared the monthly report including several site visits

• Supervisor’s Report: Koshar shared an update on the CBDG grant work from Seth Carlson.

New Business:
• Shawn and Chet, the new project coordinators from Ranger Power, gave an update on the Solar Project that was approved in 2024 by the township. Shawn indicated that the township could be eligible for an additional grant for the 200 mw battery. The grant would be for $5000/mw. Shawn will assist in getting us started on this. The plan is to begin installation post-harvest 2027.
