Mavis Ann Gagnier, age 88, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at Centrica Care Rose Arbor Place. She was born on November 18, 1937, in Marcellus, Michigan, to Fred and Ethel (Wright) Hunt.
Mavis dedicated her life to caring for others. After graduating from the Bronson School of Nursing, she embarked on a remarkable career as a registered nurse, serving patients and families with compassion and professionalism. She retired from Borgess Hospital after 40 years of nursing service, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

Beyond her professional career, Mavis was known for her caring spirit and commitment to helping others. She was an avid volunteer who found joy in serving her community. She also loved traveling, golfing, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to those she loved will be remembered by all who knew her.
Mavis is survived by her children, Timothy (Marita) Wyman, Gregory Wyman, and Kathleen (Matt) Militzer; her grandchildren, Eric (Jeanetta) Wyman, Alex (Kitty) Wyman, Tori Myers, Rayna Myers, David Myers, Kelsey Militzer, and Mackenzie Militzer; her great-grandchildren, Mila, Rosie, and Leo; her brother, Jim Hunt; her sister, Katie (Gordon) Blush; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean (Bill) Monaghan; her brother, Jack (June) Hunt; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Hunt.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 11:30 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Private interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marcellus, Michigan.
