On Saturday, June 3, the girls track team competed in the MHSAA track and field state finals. Senior Brooklyn VanTilburg wrapped up a fantastic career finishing eleventh in high jump tying her personal record of four feet ten inches. VanTilburg also qualified to compete in the 300 M hurdles running a personal best of 53.26.
Talan Hiemstra and Madisyn Harrison both competed in the pole vault. Talan Hiemstra vaulted seven feet nine inches. Hiemstra is a three time state qualifier. Harrison, a two time qualifier, cleared eight feet nine inches and finished sixth place earning all-state honors. Hiemstra and Harrison have been dominating the competition all year. Hiemstra was the SW10 conference champion and Harrison was the regional champion.
