Morse Elton Thornburgh, 85 of Marcellus, Michigan passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at home.
He was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 22, 1937, the son of Roy Thornburgh and Elva (Youngman) Thornburgh.
On June 10, 1961, in Marcellus, Michigan he married Judy Mae Shannon who preceded him in death.
Morse was a laborer, working for many years at Green Bay Packaging in Schoolcraft Michigan.
Morse enjoyed fishing, going on family trips and watching Tigers baseball on television. He loved playing card games and his grandchildren.
Morse is survived by son Richard (Tammy) Thornburgh of Marcellus; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister Marion Irwin of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Morse is preceded in death by his wife Judy Thornburgh; four sisters Grace Westfall, Vivian Nuessel, Violet Peak, Ruth Northrup; and brother Glen Thornburgh.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday June 19, 2023, at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 19, 2023, with Pastor Jamey Smith of Restoration Church officiating. Burial will follow at Marcellus Bly Cemetery.
