The Newberg Township Board met at the Newberg Township Fire Department in regular session on December 8, 2025.
Supervisor Covey led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Additions/Deletions to Agenda
Blackburn reported we needed to add MHR Collections under New Business.
Approval of the Agenda
Motion made by Covey, supported by Harvey, to approve agenda with the addition of MHR under New Business per Blackburn’s request. Motion carried unanimously by vote vote.
Approval of Minutes
Motion made by Duff, supported by Covey, to approve the November 10th, 2025 General Meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Reports
Assessor: Nothing to report
Ordinance: Enforcement officer shared updates on current cases.
Ambulance: Director Griffiths reported eighteen (18) calls for the month of November. Fire: Chief Forrester reported six (6) calls for the month of November.
Sexton: nothing to report. Building: nothing to report.
Treasurer: Treasurer Blackburn stated winter taxes have been mailed out. Office hours for collecting taxes will be Dec 30th 9:00am-noon and 1:00pm-5:00pm. More hours to come in February.
County Commission: Not present.
Solar Project: Ali Stano shared happenings with the solar project.

Unfinished Business
1. New Township Hall: Starting on electric and plumbing next week.
2. Township Lake Ordinances: Duff shared ordinance information from attorney. Questions and discussion was had. Copies of an example ordinance for no marina was shared with board. Suggestions and questions will be sent to the attorney for review.
3. Harwood Lake Cemetery: Nothing new to report at this time.
New Business
1. Cass Mobile Clinic: Supervisor Covey opened discussion for members from the Cass Mobile Clinic to discuss parking at the Newberg Fire Department. Motion made by Griffiths, supported by Covey, to allow Cass Mobile Clinic to use the Newberg Township Fire Station on Dec. 23rd 2025 for medical services on a trial basis and reevaluate this at the Newberg January General Meeting. Motion carried unanimously upon voice vote.
2. 2026/2027 Budget Workshop: Budget workshop scheduled for Wednesday, January 21st 2026 at 5:00pm.
3. Timberlane Motel Project: Dakota Dieter, who is fixing up the Timberlane Inn, to share updates on the project and possible opening dates.
4. MHR/Collections: Treasurer Blackburn shared that MHR has a bill from a patient that is under $25 and can not go to collection but is not being paid. Discussion was had regrading if the township should have a policy to write off these delinquent bills. Discussion was had regarding billing. Director Griffiths stated he will contact MHR and look into this issue and bring it to the board next month
Bills to Pay
Motion made by Blackburn, supported by Griffiths, to pay the bills for the month of December in the amount of $46,982.80. Motion carried unanimously upon voice vote.
