The Newberg Township Board met at 7:00pm at the Newberg Township Fire Department in regular session on May 12th, 2025.
Supervisor Covey led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Additions/Deletions to Agenda
Blackburn would like to add BS&A Payments under New Business #3.
Approval of the Agenda
Motion made by Duff, supported by Griffiths, to approve the May 12, 2025, Newberg Township General Meeting agenda with additions added under new business. Motion Carried by voice vote.
Approval of Minutes
Motion made by Duff, supported by Harvey, to approve the April 14, 2025, General Meeting Minutes. Motion carried upon voice vote.
Reports
Assessor: Nothing to report.
Ordinance: Report shared from the enforcement officer. They are seeing an uptick in living condition complaints in the county.
Ambulance: Ambulance Director Griffiths reported nineteen (19) calls for the month of April.
Fire: Griffiths reported six (6) calls for the month of April.
Sexton: Three cremations for the month of April.
Building: Report read by Clerk Duff.
Treasurer: Report available at meeting or upon request from treasurer. County Commission: Nothing to report.
Solar Project: Report shared from EDP Renewables. Discussion/questions followed.

Unfinished Business
1. Mass Gathering & Noise Ordinance: Nothing new to add at this time.
2. New Township Hall: Discussion was had regarding the township hall build.
3.Township Emails: Discussion was had regarding emails.
4. Street Lights in the Village of Jones: Supervisor Covey reported the light poles in the Village of Jones are paid for by the residents of the property the poles are located on.
New Business
1. Township Lake Ordnances: Discussion was had regarding the current Newberg Township Lake Ordinances. Supervisor Covey stated he will start looking into the concerns regarding Harwood Lake.
2. DASA Contract for Newberg Township: Motion made by Blackburn, supported by Griffiths, to approve the DASA (Domestic and Sexual Assault Services) contract for
$400.50 for the year 2025/26. Motion carried upon voice vote.
3. BS&A Payments: Discussion was had regarding online tax payment for Newberg Township property taxes. BS&A could set up an online service at no cost for Newberg Township. Blackburn will continue to look into for more information.
Bills to Pay
Motion made by Duff, supported by Harvey, to pay the bills for the month of May in the amount of $30,165.79. Motion carried upon voice vote.
