“The kids were great; I didn’t have to worry about a thing,” National Honor Society advisor Katy Essex reports.
The students not only welcomed donors to the American Red Cross Blood Drive, Tuesday, March 15, but guided them through the process, cheered them on, and recommended post-donating snacks.
The Red Cross had set a goal of 22 units for the day but, according to Essex, Marcellus easily surpassed that for a total of 33 units.
Many of the new donors were the students themselves who, while anxious to give, appreciated support from fellow students, teachers and community members.
