Notice is hereby given that a Primary Election will be held in Volinia Township on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The polls will be open from 7:00am to 8:00pm.

CONGRESSIONAL- SENATOR; 5TH DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS. LEGISLATIVE- 36TH DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE IN STATE LEGISLATURE. COUNTY– PROSCUTING ATTORNEY; SHERRIFF; CLERK AND REGISTER OF DEEDS; TREASURER; DRAIN COMMISSIONER; SURVEYOR; 3rd DISTRICT COUNTY COMMISSIONER. TOWNSHIP– SUPERVISOR; CLERK; TREASURER; TRUSTEE; DELEGATE.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE of the following proposals on the ballot:
RENEWAL – DRUG INFORCEMENT MILLAGE: Renewal of the 0.4751 mill levy on all property for four years to be used in support of law enforcement, criminal justice and public safety.
MILLAGE PROPOSITION FOR SERVICES TO OLDER CITIZENS: Renewal of 0.9827 mill levy on all property for four years to be used for services to older citizens.
VOLINIA TOWNSHIP ROAD IMPROVEMENT MILLAGE: Approve up to a two mill levy for a period of 4 years, 2024 through 2027, inclusive for the purposes of road repairs, upgrades, construction, improvement and maintenance of township roads.
VAN BUREN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL EDUCATION MILLAGE RENEWAL: Van Buren Intermediate School District Special Education Millage Renewal of 0.8955 mill to provide funds for the education of students with a disability for a period of five years.

Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the local clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot.
To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available int audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternate formats can be made by contacting the township clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
