MHS Varsity Basketball – Boys looking for a win at 0-3 while girls even at 1-1

Varsity Head Coach Troy Kahler discusses strategy, Thursday, December 11, during the ‘Cats home game against Bangor. Kahler was without three members of an already small on numbers squad, but Marcellus showed a lot of grit in their 39-48 loss to the Vikings making their record 0-3 so far this season.

 Junior Emma Melendez outpaces Bangor’s Amiyah Corona during the ‘Cats win over the visiting Vikings, December 11. Melendez, a three year varsity veteran, is key to the Wildcats success this year on the court. Numbers, or lack thereof, did not allow the school to field a JV team this year making this year’s squad a young one with three ninth graders, four sophomores, one junior and two seniors.      – News Photo

Sophomores, left to right, Kerrianne O’Donnel, Josie Adams, Lucy Hughes, and Emma Caudill are showing a lot of growth in their second year on varsity. After dropping the season opener to Michigan Lutheran, the ‘Cats dominated the visiting Bangor Vikings, 51-39.        -News Photo
