*A School
MARCELLUS AMBULANCE AND FIRE SERVICES
Everyone should be aware that Emergency Services are on life support nationwide. Just recently “Pride Care” dissolved putting several of our adjoining Townships that were contracted with them at risk with no Emergency Ambulance Service available to them.
We have an aging population across the county. We have a lot of outdoor recreational opportunities. So having emergency medical services available, when we need it, is critically important to our economy. It’s also critically important to the quality of life of people in Marcellus Township.
Marcellus Township has experienced significant cost increases in the past 10 years which has led to a funding crisis to our EMS. During this time, police enforcement costs for services have increased by 14% and fire calls for service have risen by 36%. In addition, the cost of emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire vehicles and equipment including routine maintenance) has risen dramatically in the past few years. As certain vehicles and equipment near the end of their useful life, replacements need to be purchased at these increased prices. Current millage funding has reached its maximum impact!
The dedicated millage increase is necessary to maintain current services levels and provide additional funding to maintain its existing fire and emergency medical services.
If the millage is not approved, Marcellus Township would need to make significant cuts to services offered and to fire personnel, which would harm quality of service and response times to our residents in need immediate responses, or – God forbid – disband our EMS entirely.
The August Ballot is requesting 2 mils. 1 mil is a renewal that has been in effect for many years and 1 mil is an increase to hopefully sustain our critical Emergency Medical and Fire Services.
THIS IS OUR CRITICAL MOMENT – PLEASE VOTE YES!

SCHOOLS
We are consistently in the top 3 schools in our area. The administration is doing a terrific job! There are no bond issues up for renewal for our schools this year.
