Budget Hearing, June 8, 2022
Supervisor Oxley called the General and Fire Fund Budget Hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. Members present- Meade, Nesbitt, Oxley, Bitely and Packer. Also present – Attorney Schuitmaker and 1 guest. Supervisor Oxley closed the Budget Hearing at 7:00pm

Regular Meeting, June 8, 2022
Supervisor Oxley called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present – Meade, Oxley, Packer, Bitely and Nesbitt. Also present – Attorney Schuitmaker and three guests.
Motion by Nesbitt with support by Bitely to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on May 11, 2022, with corrections. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Packer with support by Nesbitt to approve the Treasurer’s report subject to audit. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Bitely with support by Packer to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Bitely to approve the General Fund Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 in summary form. Total revenue of $1,024,985 less total expenditures of $1,166,040 for a proposed net decrease in fund balance of $141,054 together with the projected beginning fund balance of $1,338,552 for a projected year end 2023 fund balance of $1,197,498. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Packer to approve the Fire Fund Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 in summary form. Total revenue of $199,600 less total expenditures of $136,800 for a proposed net increase in fund balance of $62,800 together with the proposed beginning fund balance of $614,266 for a projected year end 2023 fund balance of $677,066. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Packer to amend the 2022 general fund budget to bring it in line with actual expenditures. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Packer to amend the 2022 fire fund budget to bring it in line with actual expenditures. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Packer to hold a Headlee and Truth in Taxation Public Hearing on July 13, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Packer for Supervisor Oxley to send a letter of support to Antwerp Township for the building of a Road Commission Maintenance building in their township. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Bitely to hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 6:30 pm to renew Road and Fire Special Assessment Districts. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Meade with support by Bitely to hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 6:30 pm for the Cedar Lake Weed Special Assessment District. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
Motion by Bitely with support by Packer to adjourn the meeting at 8:12 pm. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.
