Supervisor Oxley called the Cedar Lake Weed Special Assessment District Public Hearing to Confirm Roll to order at 6:30 p.m.  Members present- Meade, Oxley, Bitely and Nesbitt.  Also present – Attorney Schuitmaker and 7 guests.

Motion by Bitely with support by Meade to adjourn the Cedar Lake Weed Special Assessment District Public Hearing to Confirm Roll at 6:55 p.m. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Porter Township, Van Buren County, Michigan: Regular Meeting, September 14, 2022
Township

Supervisor Oxley called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Members present – Meade, Oxley, Bitely and Nesbitt.  Also present – Attorney Schuitmaker and four guests.

Motion by Meade with support by Bitely to approve the minutes of the special meeting on August 10, 2022. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Meade with support by Bitely to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on August 10, 2022. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Bitely with support by Nesbitt to approve the Treasurer’s report subject to audit. Voice vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Bitely with support by Nesbitt to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Meade with support by Nesbitt for a resolution to confirm the Special Assessment District tax roll as presented for the eradication or control of aquatic weeds and plants for Cedar Lake at a rate of $120 per dwelling per year for 5 years. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Nesbitt with support by Meade for a resolution to hire Clark’s Contracting to install a new HVAC system including furnace and air conditioner for township hall, at a rate not to exceed $26,039.83, to utilize COVID funds for the purchase, and to pay the 65% required down payment. Roll call vote – all yes. Motion passed.

Motion by Bitely with support by Meade adjourn the meeting at 8:02 pm. Voice vote – all yes.  Motion passed.
