PUBLIC NOTICE Budget Hearing
September 15, 2025, 3pm

To all residents of Cass County, notice is hereby given that the Cass County Conservation District (CCCD) will hold a public hearing at the Cass County Council on Aging located at 60525 Decatur Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031 on Monday, the 15th day of September 2025, at 3pm.

The proposed budget of estimated expenses and revenues of the CCCD for the 2025-26 fiscal year beginning October 1, 2025, will be presented to the CCCD board at the regular monthly board meeting, September 15, 2025, which will directly follow the budget hearing.

The purpose of the budget hearing is to review the proposed budget with the community. The public is invited to comment on the proposed budget at this time. We encouraged all to attend and help build the conservation efforts in Cass County.

A copy of the proposed budget will be posted for public inspection one week prior to the meeting at the District office located at 1127 E. State Street, Cassopolis, MI 49031.

This notice is posted in compliance with applicable law. Cass County Conservation District will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the meeting to individuals with disabilities, upon reasonable notice to the District.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
MSHDA MI NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CDBG HOMEOWNER REHABILITATION PROGRAM

The Village of Marcellus Council will hold a public hearing ON September 9, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. as required for the MSHDA MI Neighborhood 2.0 CDBG Homeowner Improvement Grant Program, to hear from all people interested in the Village’s application for funding under the MSHDA MI Neighborhood program. 

The Village of Marcellus proposes to request $472,000 in CDBG funds to fund homeowner rehabilitation of existing housing to preserve the affordable housing stock in the Village of Marcellus. All funds will be used for rehabilitation of existing homes, including administrative costs. The entire amount is intended to benefit low to moderate income residents and no resident will be displaced as a result of the proposed activities.

Citizen views and comments on the proposed application are welcome and may be submitted in writing through September 10, 2025, or made in person at the public hearing.

The Village of Marcellus is in good standing with the CDBG programs funded by the State.

Flowerfield Township Notice of Ordinance Adoption
At the August 12, 2025, Flowerfield Township Regular Board Meeting, Ordinance 54, was adopted, which will replace and combine both Ordinance 20 and Ordinance 21.

The ordinance will be effective September 28, 2025. You can locate a copy of Ordinance 54 Litter and Vehicle /Machinery Storage at www.flowerfieldtwp.net.
