Team RickWorld continues on a reading roll with just six months to go in the Marcellus Library’s Read Through the Decades Challenge! The Challenge concludes at the library’s Noon Year’s Eve Party on December 31. Groups are asked to dress in the decade they reach by counting each book as one year. Team RickWorld could go with Jetsons gear or should we boldly go. . .
Justin Ware: The Inheritance Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. A young adults “The Da Vinci Code’ or “National Treasure.” Puzzles, clues and twists upon puzzles, clues and twists.
Katy Essex: The Runaway Jury by John Grisham. Manipulation and fear tactics spread amongst the jury of a high-stakes lawsuit against big tabacco companies. Crummymoon by AC Netzel. Loved this book! Rom-com that had a great plot, good dialogue. Woman goes on her honeymoon alone to rediscover who she is and falls in love in the process. Will make you laugh and cry. Kane Unchained by Dick Wybrow. Book 4 in the Kane and Emelda series. The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley. Historical Fiction with a bit of mysticism. A small group of archaelogists are looking for the Ninth Leigon of Rome. I’ve enjoyed everything by this author, this is not her best work, but it was enjoyable. Read this before you read The Firebird.
Sarah Essex: Long Shadows by David Baldacci. I enjoy the Amos Decker series and this one certainly kept me interested. I Will Ruin You by Lincoln Barclay. I did not enjoy this book but finished it hoping it would get better. A completely unbelievable story.
Kay McAdam: The Gotti Wars – Taking Down America’s Most Notorious Mobster by John Gleeson. After reading about the murder of mob boss Paul Castellano, I just had to read “the rest of the story” or what happens after a mob boss succumbs to lead poisoning perpetuated by a wannabe boss. John Gotti went from Teflon Don to Yapper Don to Don Voyage.
Until next time, keep reading! Kids Who Read Succeed!
