Katy Essex: Her Final Words by Alex Sigmore. Fourth Emily Slate, FBI agent series. She and her partner Zara are investigating brutal killings in upstate New York while she receives ominous messages from her husband’s assassin. Holiday Hoax by Maggie Cole. I had high hopes for this book, it was good, not great. I loved how the lead female character stayed true to herself throughout the book.
