The Bible is the most precious book. In fact, millions have given their lives before they would give up the Bible. What makes it so valuable is its purpose to reveal the love of God and His earnest desire to save a lost and dying world.
Listen to what Hebrews 12 verse 2 says. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Jesus had to come to save all who valued life eternal with Him. He couldn’t stay in heaven without making a way to rescue us from Satan’s hands. We can understand that a little bit because what parent could stand by and watch their child parish if there were some way to save them. Jesus found a way. He, the Creator, would offer His own blood to pay our ransom so we could go free. Wonder of wonders!
Yes, He paid it all for us and all He asks us to do is what Heb. 12:1, last part, says: “let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Every word of the Bible has a purpose to reveal God’s plan to redeem us from our enemy’s hands and to bring us off more than conquerors. Rom. 8:37
Sometimes we think we have blown it so much that God couldn’t possibly love us, but He does. Listen to Isaiah 1:18: “Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
So, Friends, let us again today rededicate our lives to pleasing Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Read some of the Bible every day and ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit to gladden your day.
Stay tuned, HS
